Awarded 4 Stars: Michael Coopers Buying Guide
This consistently attractive wine is grown at Kumeu, in West Auckland, matured on its yeast lees, but not oak-matured. Made in a medium-dry style, it is typically floral and weighty, with a slightly oily texture, finely balanced acidity and peach, pear and spice aromas and flavours, vibrant and rich. The 2011 vintage (4*) is an ideal, all-purpose wine, drinking well now. Mouthfilling, it is very finely poised, with ripe, peachy, citrusy, slightly spicy flavours, a sliver of sweetness, moderate acidity, and excellent freshness and depth.
