WINEMAKER’S COMMENT
Lifted red and black berry fruits aromas, with nuances of spicy oak. Good depth in the nose. Vibrant palate with plum, red and blackberry flavours. Supple texture and good length.
VINIFICATION
Attention to detail is the hallmark of our winemaking. Careful vineyard selection and well managed ferments, followed by post-ferment maceration have led to great balance between the fruit weight and tannin structure. This Merlot was matured in barrel and tank to allow flavour and textural development before bottling.
VINTAGE SUMMARY
The growing season of 2011/2012 saw Mother Nature throw many challenges at us! But our highly capable vineyard team rose to the challenge, delivering some outstanding fruit to the winery. Here the ball was passed to our dedicated winemaking team, who utilised their collective skills to tease out the best in every parcel of wine.
