Old Mother Nature served up a decent challenge weather wise at Taste of Auckland. Great to see some hearty festival-goers turn up in their gumboots!
I cooked Rata’s take on the classic cheese roll in front of a steller crowd. The dish is always a winner, combining rich, cheesy goodness with a couple of surprise flavours like honey comb and pickled turnip.
Also up on the menu was venison carpaccio, a rustic cloudy bay clams dish, and a crayfish risotto. I then topped it off with an indulgent chocolate cake combined with dried cherries and pistachios.
